Banco Rioja embraces digital transformation to accelerate innovation

Banco Rioja, a medium-sized, provincially owned bank based in La Rioja, Argentina, needed to modernize its operations to compete with fintechs and leverage data-driven services. The bank struggled with informal, inconsistent project management and lacked a central way to track and align initiatives, creating a need for standardized, scalable PMO processes.

Working with Systec, Banco Rioja implemented Smartsheet Control Center to standardize methodologies, automate workflows, and create real-time dashboards for executives and regulators. The change improved cross-team collaboration, sped decision-making, and enabled the bank to scale from about 10 major projects to 70–80 (with a goal of 100), while boosting its regulatory rating to a very good standing.
