The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) needed to coordinate large-scale hardware installs, software rollouts and workforce changes across multiple regional hubs to improve patient care. Working with 40 project managers on 87 concurrent projects, transformation teams found their Excel- and PowerPoint-based tracking was labour-intensive, error-prone and unsustainable for accurate, timely reporting.
Using Smartsheet, consultants built a standardized, automated dashboard solution in three weeks that centralised project data, visualised progress and reduced manual reporting. Data compilation dropped from a full business week to hours (financial reports now take about 10 minutes), visibility and accuracy improved, and teams are now better able to deliver projects that support patient outcomes—with plans to expand integrations and scale usage across the NHS.
