Venterra Realty Management, a Houston-based multifamily operator serving more than 44,000 residents across 19 cities, wanted to upgrade its smart home technology to improve the resident experience and differentiate itself in local markets. After a disappointing first attempt with another provider that lacked reliability and integrations, Venterra turned to SmartRent and evaluated products including Access Control, Smart Apartments, and Self-Guided Tours.
SmartRent implemented a custom-integrated smart home solution that connected with Venterra’s proprietary property-management system and added tools for resident access, climate control, work management, and self-guided touring. The result was better operational efficiency and a smoother resident experience, with maintenance teams saving at least 15 minutes per job, fewer trips for keys and paperwork, and improved leasing capabilities during COVID. SmartRent also helped Venterra strengthen security, accountability, and convenience while supporting higher satisfaction across its communities.
