A Smartrak Case Study
Whangarei District Council turned to Smartrak to address three pressing challenges: a lack of accurate fleet usage information to control operating costs, safety concerns for staff working alone at remote sites, and the need to better record and clean up graffiti incidents. The council needed a way to improve fleet visibility while also enhancing staff safety and incident management.
Smartrak implemented its GPS tracking system, including a personal locator for lone workers and Stop Tags for graffiti management. The solution gave the council better fleet data to identify inefficiencies, improved health and safety compliance, and helped staff feel more secure knowing help could be summoned quickly in an emergency. Smartrak also noted potential fuel efficiency gains of up to 22% for organizations using GPS tracking.
