Murray Irrigation, Australia’s largest privately-owned irrigation company, needed a better way to manage health and safety risks across its operations, including vehicle traffic on public roads and access tracks, lone workers, and areas with poor mobile coverage. The company partnered with Smartrak and began a trial using vehicle tracking and safety technology across a mixed fleet of staff and contractor vehicles.

Smartrak’s AVL units, satellite connectivity, driver behaviour monitoring, and emergency alerting helped Murray Irrigation improve safety culture, reduce risky driving, and extend protection beyond the vehicle with personal safety devices. The company also introduced 24/7 monitoring and used utilisation data to reduce fleet size, while preparing to roll out Pool Booking and expand to an additional 60 vehicles.
