Medianet launches end-to-end OTT solution in 12 months with Smartivus

The customer Medianet, a cable television provider present in every household and establishment in the Maldives, faced the challenge of integrating seven different Set-Top Box modifications and unifying their over-the-air firmware update system. Smartivus was engaged to develop a comprehensive end-to-end OTT solution to address this.

Smartivus implemented a new backend system and applications, employing a phase-driven approach and a cross-disciplinary team. The solution included the introduction of new Android-based set-top boxes and the integration of video transcoders, middleware, and media servers. As a result, network congestion was alleviated through optimized encoding and seamless content delivery was ensured with redundant edge nodes, completing the project within a 12-month timeframe.
