National Galleries of Scotland launches AR exhibition experience with Smartify in 2020

The National Galleries of Scotland sought to create a digital guide for an exhibition that would share rare archive materials and provide a unique augmented reality experience, accessible both in the gallery and remotely. Smartify's solution enabled the gallery to upload previously unseen videos, letters, and sketches into a digital guide, and included an AR animation that brought a famous film artifact to life. The implementation successfully provided a COVID-safe experience by delivering content directly to visitors' smartphones, eliminating the need for rented devices or touch screens and enhancing digital engagement for both on-site and remote audiences.
