Czech Government redirects 30% of Prague tourists with SmartGuide

The Czech Government faced a significant challenge in restarting its tourism sector after visitor numbers plummeted by over 60% during the pandemic. They partnered with vendor SmartGuide to implement its digital audio guide platform to promote safer travel and encourage visitors to explore lesser-known destinations across the country.

SmartGuide implemented its self-guided tour system by collaborating with local experts to create 188 digital audio guides in over 13 languages. This solution successfully redirected tourist traffic, with SmartGuide helping to move 30% of visitors in Prague away from the overcrowded center. The project revitalized tourism, provided valuable data on visitor habits, and SmartGuide was awarded the Hero of Tourism 2022 for its contribution.
