Rounds is a free multi-platform video chat and hangout application that lets users share videos, play games, and see friends' reactions in real time. Wanting to expand from iOS to Android, Rounds needed full end-to-end development, video-processing integration and server-side Facebook data handling but lacked the in-house team — so they engaged Smartexe for Android development and video-processing expertise.

Smartexe evaluated options (RTSP, SIP, HTML5), implemented a SIP-based video chat solution, integrated an HTML5 player for YouTube, and continues to support and optimize the Android app for newer devices and Android 4.0+. As a result, the Android version has been continuously updated and improved by Smartexe and surpassed 100,000 Google Play downloads with an average 4.2/5 rating (as of Dec 2013).
