SP Energy Networks - Customer Case Study

The customer, SP Energy Networks, faced the challenge of accelerating the connection of renewable and distributed generation projects. Congestion and constraints on the transmission network were causing delays. To solve this, SP Energy Networks worked with vendor Smarter Grid Solutions to trial the Strata Grid platform.

Smarter Grid Solutions implemented its Strata Grid system to manage these constraints through the real-time curtailment of distributed energy resources. This solution enabled over 150 MW of new renewable generation to connect to the grid without the need for costly and delayed network reinforcement. The trial was so successful that Strata Grid transitioned into a full operational system for SP Energy Networks.
