Northern Powergrid, a distribution network operator, sought to improve power reliability for a number of its remote and critical communities. To address this challenge, they partnered with Smarter Grid Solutions.

Smarter Grid Solutions implemented its Strata Resilience platform, which uses the OpenFMB standard to coordinate the control of distributed energy resources and manage microgrid operations. The vendor also provided full project management services for the deployment. The first of these resilient microgrid sites were successfully launched in 2020.
