The customer, Laing O’Rourke, needed a real-time software platform for their smart factory to visualize power consumption and improve energy efficiency as part of an EU-funded Horizon 2020 project. The vendor, Smarter Grid Solutions, provided its Cirrus Flex software platform to address this challenge.

Smarter Grid Solutions deployed the Cirrus Flex platform at each factory for local integration and optimization. This solution provided Laing O’Rourke with complete energy consumption visibility, identified efficiency opportunities, and enabled participation in demand response markets. The successful implementation demonstrated the control mechanisms for future distributed energy resource additions and highlighted significant future operational savings.
