LSO, formerly Lone Star Overnight, is a trucking company with a 440-vehicle fleet that delivers throughout the Southwest and Mexico. To strengthen its safety program, LSO partnered with SmartDrive Systems and adopted the SmartDrive video-based safety program to better identify risk areas and improve driver training.

Using SmartDrive Systems’ video footage in coaching sessions, LSO improved its safety score by 47% and drove major behavior changes at one site, including a 100% increase in seatbelt compliance and reductions in mobile phone use by 90%, texting by 69%, incomplete stops by 82%, and unsafe following by 77%. SmartDrive Systems also helped exonerate drivers from customer complaints and uncover fatigue-related risks for further coaching.
