Fraley & Schilling, a 500-truck commercial fleet based in Indiana that hauls metal products and building materials across the eastern U.S., wanted the next technology to boost fleet safety and protect drivers. The company sought a video-based safety program that would be easy to use, gain driver buy-in, and provide actionable insights for coaching and exoneration.

Fraley & Schilling deployed SmartDrive’s dual-camera system (in-cab and forward-facing) across all company-owned trucks, used driver beta testers to build acceptance, and implemented a targeted coaching program based on recorded events. Within 18 months collision frequency fell 67%, and by 2017—after more than 19 million miles driven—year-over-year collision frequency was down 42%, yielding roughly $0.02 per mile in cost savings while strengthening the fleet’s safety culture.
