A SmartDocuments Case Study
The Municipality of The Hague faced the challenge of separating document templates from their data when transitioning from WordPerfect to Microsoft Word over 15 years ago. They needed a new system to manage and convert a vast library of approximately 1,000 templates while integrating this functionality directly within their own internal permit application systems.
SmartDocuments partnered with the municipality to convert the templates and develop custom solutions, including a link to their permit system that allowed documents to be generated from within their own applications. This implementation, which involved SmartDocuments consultants working on-site, saved the municipality significant time by eliminating manual cutting and pasting and resulted in a seamless process where letters are generated automatically with minimal user interaction. The long-term partnership has proven successful, with the municipality continuing to use SmartDocuments for over 15 years and recently completing a migration to the web version.
