Localex, a boutique localization service provider, was asked to post-edit an enormous project — 6.5 million words in three months with a critical batch of 3.4 million words in 10 days across 32 languages — creating major scaling, management, quality and payment challenges. To meet this demand they turned to Smartcat, leveraging the Smartcat marketplace, CAT/MT integrations and Smartcat’s workflow and commenting features to recruit, coordinate and educate large numbers of post-editors quickly.

Using Smartcat’s marketplace to onboard 130 linguists, Smartcat’s workflow automation to let four in‑house PMs manage the work, and Smartcat’s payment automation plus MT engine testing and collaborative commenting, Localex delivered on time and to the client’s satisfaction. Smartcat-enabled workflows produced measurable gains: 30–40% productivity increase, 5,000–8,000 words/day per post-editor, ~40% project cost savings, feedback from 100+ linguists and new MT training data.
