Case Study: iText achieves continuous, automated e‑commerce localization with Smartcat

A Smartcat Case Study

Preview of the iText Case Study

iText - Customer Case Study

iText, a language service provider operating in Russia and Kazakhstan, won a competitive bid to localize roughly 250,000 words of product descriptions, UI copy and long-form content for Sulpak.kz. The main challenge was the client’s custom CMS and the need for continuous, fast updates—so iText proposed Smartcat as the technological backbone (Smartcat platform, its CMS integrations, open API and built-in CAT editor) to demonstrate a reliable, automated localization workflow.

Using Smartcat, iText converted site content to XML, built a custom API integration to pull source content into Smartcat for translation and push translations back to the CMS, and ran the project end-to-end through the platform’s CAT editor. The integration was set up in a couple of weeks and supported an eight-month effort to process ~250,000 words, enabling continuous localization with faster turnaround, lower costs and improved quality—helping iText win the deal and scale similar e-commerce projects using Smartcat.
