Case Study: Xsolla achieves continuous localization and faster releases with Smartcat

A Smartcat Case Study

How software companies can set up continuous localization with Smartcat & Serge

Xsolla, a global video games distributor and publisher with eight core products, was struggling to localize 6–21 languages per product on a two‑week release cycle. Their legacy online translation platforms created heavy project‑management overhead — localizing a few new strings into many languages took more coordination than translation. To solve this, Xsolla adopted a continuous localization bundle using Serge (for string extraction and resource generation) together with the Smartcat translation platform.

Serge continuously monitors Xsolla’s Git repo, extracts updated strings into PO files, and sends sanitized resources to Smartcat, where Xsolla’s translators manage and complete the work; Serge then reintegrates localized strings back into the repository. The Smartcat + Serge workflow cut project‑management effort, let developers treat strings like code (branching, merging, rolling back) and kept localized resources up to date within minutes, while Smartcat’s team management helped maintain translation quality across Xsolla’s multi‑language releases.
