A Smartcat Case Study
AlgoM, a Russian developer of digital medical solutions, needed to translate the Duodecim Evidence-Based Medicine Guidelines into Russian so clinicians could access contemporary research. The project demanded extreme precision, a multistage workflow (translation, editing, senior proofreading, and medical board review), tight timelines and cost control, so AlgoM chose Smartcat and its CAT editor and translation platform to coordinate translators, glossaries and review processes.
Smartcat supplied its CAT editor, translation memories, MeSH glossary integration, QA checks, Marketplace sourcing and automated billing/payouts, enabling real‑time collaboration with medical experts and rapid onboarding of freelancers (Smartcat shortlisted 26 candidates, two were selected). The solution delivered high-quality, consistent translations while cutting costs by about 30%, speeding delivery and keeping projects on time and on budget through Smartcat’s automated cost calculation and payment workflow.
