5 ways Smartcat enables efficient localization for game developers

IMC Games, a Korean video game developer known for Granado Espada and Tree of Savior, faced a large-volume localization challenge after beginning to self-publish titles on Steam and moving to an internal localization process. To handle hefty already-translated and soon-to-be-translated content, the studio chose the Smartcat CAT platform to centralize and manage their multilingual game text.

Smartcat provided unlimited storage and users, real‑time collaboration, progress tracking and integrated glossaries/TMs, enabling IMC Games to localize two MMORPGs on the platform with a small in‑house team (2–3 people) and scale with agencies or freelancers when needed. The result, according to IMC Games, has been cost- and time-efficient localization with much faster response times to updates and consistent terminology across projects thanks to Smartcat.
