Smartcar and Zemtu partner to launch API-powered keyless car sharing solution

Zemtu, an Austria-based car sharing software provider, wanted to help car sharing businesses offer keyless rentals more easily and without the cost and complexity of installing hardware in every vehicle. To address this challenge, Zemtu partnered with Smartcar to add an API-powered vehicle connectivity solution to its all-in-one platform, which already includes mobile apps, booking, vehicle management, and support tools.

With Smartcar’s API, Zemtu can now let businesses connect cars in just four clicks from the Zemtu app, enabling renters to locate and unlock vehicles directly in the app and allowing mileage verification after each trip. The hardware-free approach helps customers onboard new cars in less than 30 seconds at no additional cost, lowers onboarding time and costs, and is already being used by partners including Caruso Carsharing, edrive, and Teilzeug on eligible vehicles.
