How Box Care uses Smartcar's API for their on-demand car wash app

Box Care is an on-demand car care app based in Berkeley, CA, serving customers in San Francisco and the East Bay. Before working with Smartcar, Box Care’s customers had to manually enter their vehicle location each time they requested service, and staff often needed the customer present to unlock the car for interior cleaning.

By integrating Smartcar’s API, Box Care used the location endpoint to find vehicles automatically and the security endpoint to lock and unlock cars through the app, eliminating the need for key handoffs. Smartcar also enabled a “Connect my car” authorization flow so customers could grant access securely; the result was faster service, lower costs, and a much more convenient experience for both Box Care and its customers.
