Carge gives EV drivers a seamless charging experience

Carge, an Athens-based mobile app for EV charging, wanted to simplify the fragmented charging experience for drivers across Europe. After its founder experienced the hassle of using multiple apps and paying separate deposits on a road trip, Carge set out to unify charge point networks in one place and improve the charging journey for EV users.

To add real-time battery insights, Carge integrated with Smartcar and used Smartcar’s APIs to access battery level, charging status, and odometer data from 40+ EV models in Europe. With Smartcar, Carge launched EV Connect and introduced features like monitoring battery level, setting preferred charge-stop points, proactively reserving stations when range runs low, and developing smart-charging algorithms—while serving over 180,000 public charge points across 16 countries.
