KGHM migrates to Drupal 10 with Smartbees, creating 20 custom modules

Smartbees was engaged by KGHM, a leading copper and silver producer, to migrate its extensive corporate website from an outdated Drupal 7 platform to Drupal 10. The primary challenge was to transfer and adjust custom-made integrations, including a critical connection to the SAP Ariba procurement system, while replacing unsupported modules and maintaining all necessary functions.

The solution implemented by Smartbees involved a complete migration using a custom module and scripts, along with key integrations for SAP Ariba tenders, an Apache SOLR search engine, and an automatic newsletter system. The results were a new website with better design and simpler navigation, more efficient content searching, and streamlined processes for displaying tenders and financial data. Smartbees successfully delivered the project, which involved 2,500 hours of work and the creation of 20 custom modules, and continues to provide ongoing support.
