A SMART Technologies Case Study
Tsang Pik Shan Secondary School, a Hong Kong school that emphasizes teamwork and independent thinking, participated in the Education and Manpower Bureau’s Interactive Whiteboard Pilot Project to promote technology use and tackle low student participation and retention as pupils transition from primary to secondary school.
The school introduced SMART Board interactive whiteboards and SMART Ideas concept‑mapping software in Form 1 classes across languages, math, sciences and humanities. Teachers report higher student engagement and participation, better understanding of abstract concepts, reduced lesson‑planning time, and strong enough results to order additional units and expand use of the technology.
