A SMART Technologies Case Study
The Bridge School in London supports 5–19-year-olds with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism spectrum disorders and severe learning disabilities. Staff needed an interactive whiteboard that every student could use — even those who cannot hold a pen — to boost engagement and address widespread concentration difficulties.
They chose SMART Board interactive whiteboards for their finger-touch accessibility and durability, and teachers used multimedia activities to teach cause-and-effect, motor skills and focused attention (for example, music-triggered PowerPoint tasks). As a result, students are more attentive, more included in lessons and are making significant learning breakthroughs, with measurable gains in concentration and participation.
