Students and teachers share digital notes and save time with the Sympodium interactive pen display

Texas A&M University at Qatar, located in Education City, wanted to make large lecture halls more interactive and collaborative for engineering students. Facing the challenge of enabling real‑time annotation, clear projection of complex equations and images, and easy distribution of lecture materials, the university sought a solution that worked for both instructors and students.

TAMUQ implemented SMART's Sympodium interactive pen displays alongside student tablet PCs running Notebook and SynchronEyes, allowing instructors to write directly on slides, save annotations, and post materials online. The result was clearer, more engaging lectures, faster access to shared digital notes, improved student understanding, and a system that staff found easy to implement, support and maintain.
