South African school uses SMART Board interactive whiteboards for participative learning

Waterkloof House Preparatory School (WHPS) is a private boys’ school in Pretoria, South Africa, with about 350 pupils in Grades 0–7. The school sought to create a culture of excitement and sharing among teachers and foster more collaborative, participative learning in the classroom.

WHPS implemented SMART Board interactive whiteboards across the school (one per classroom) and equipped its computer lab with 24 workstations running SMART’s SynchronEyes software, fast-tracking rollout after strong early buy-in and training two teachers as in‑house SMART Masters. As a result, teachers collaborate on lesson development, lessons have become more original and interactive, and pupils are more engaged and absorb information more quickly across subjects from mathematics to languages and early years.
