A SMART Technologies Case Study
Tsang Pik Shan Secondary School, a Hong Kong school that emphasizes teamwork and independent thinking, needed to promote technology use while improving student participation and easing the transition from primary to secondary education. The school faced passive classroom engagement and sought ways to help students better understand abstract concepts and reduce teachers’ lesson‑planning time.
Through an EMB pilot, the school deployed SMART Board interactive whiteboards and trialed SMART Ideas concept‑mapping software across Form 1 subjects. The interactive tools boosted student participation, improved understanding of abstract material, cut preparation time for teachers, and led the school to order additional units to expand the program.
