A SMART Technologies Case Study
Croce-Morelli Public Middle School in Turin serves a multiethnic student population with many students who have special needs and whose first language is not Italian. The school needed classroom technology that could support differentiated instruction, boost participation, and help students with speech, language and learning difficulties adapt to a new social and academic environment.
The school implemented SMART Board interactive whiteboards and Notebook software in classrooms and dedicated labs, using touch-based, multimedia and collaborative activities to accommodate diverse learning styles. Teachers report greater student engagement, improved communication—particularly for students with special needs and non‑Italian speakers—and increased flexibility in lesson delivery and individualized support.
