One of America's largest special needs schools standardizes on SMART products

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB), one of the largest special‑needs schools in the U.S. serving more than 750 students from pre‑K through grade 12, needed to standardize on an interactive whiteboard that would support students with hearing and vision impairments as well as other disabilities.

FSDB chose SMART Board interactive whiteboards campus‑wide and paired them with Mac applications and Notebook software to enlarge images, enable finger input for signing, color‑code grammar lessons, and create multimedia projects. The result was greater student engagement, improved language and visual learning, and stronger classroom participation — including students who had previously been reluctant to interact.
