A SMART Technologies Case Study
David Besozzi, a ninth‑grade global history and geography teacher at Burnt Hills–Ballston Lake High School, wanted to move beyond traditional, passive oral reports for an urban planning project. He needed a way to make student PowerPoint presentations and maps more interactive, visible to the whole class, and easier to manage during lessons.
Besozzi installed a Sympodium ID370 interactive pen display (with SMART Board software) on a movable arm, letting him and students annotate slides with colored pens, pull up Google Earth tours, and control projected content from his desk or at the front of the room. The tool became part of daily teaching, boosting student engagement and tech skills, improving presentation quality, and giving the teacher a flexible, interactive way to deliver instruction.
