Enhanced Collaboration and Training for EDF Energy

EDF Energy, one of the UK’s largest energy companies and the country’s biggest low‑carbon electricity producer, needed a more effective way to deliver its internal control improvement programme. Rather than relying on flip charts and traditional training, the company sought a collaborative environment to embed processes and guidelines across teams and increase engagement.

EDF built a Collaboration Hub in its Crawley office equipped with SMART Board 885i interactive whiteboards, Meeting Pro software, mobile seating and a magnetic wall, with additional SMART Boards in Crawley and Exeter. The interactive setup made sessions more engaging, sped up sharing of tangible outputs and drove high adoption—91% of users rated the hub very useful—leading to regular use by multiple teams and plans to extend the approach to other locations.
