A SMART Technologies Case Study
Kellogg Middle School in Shoreline, Washington, serves about 700 racially and economically diverse students and had long struggled to provide equitable, engaging resources for all learners. After winning the Intel and Scholastic School of Distinction award in 2006, administrators sought technology to support a 1:1 laptop initiative and boost classroom collaboration.
The school equipped every student with a Macintosh laptop and installed a dozen SMART Board interactive whiteboards with SMART Notebook software, adding Senteo response devices for assessment. The integrated tools made lessons more interactive across subjects, increased student engagement and peer collaboration, and became a central part of Kellogg’s successful instructional strategy.
