Procon Pumps Uses Smart Demand Planner to Keep Business Flowing

PROCON, a global pump manufacturer supplying more than 70 countries, needed a better way to align sales and procurement planning across its 7,000+ SKUs. The company was dealing with gaps between sales and procurement that led to missed deliveries and excess inventory, and it wanted a forecasting and inventory optimization tool that was easy to use, supported collaborative planning, and integrated with its ERP system. Smart Software’s Smart IP&O, including Smart Demand Planner, was selected to help address these challenges.

Smart Software implemented a web-based platform that automatically pulls daily sales and shipment data from PROCON’s Epicor Kinetic ERP, generates statistical forecasts, and supports monthly consensus planning with sales managers. The result has been improved forecast accuracy, better inventory levels, stronger on-time delivery, and higher customer satisfaction. PROCON also reported that Smart Software’s support and flexibility helped the solution evolve to match their needs over more than three years of use.
