Electric Utility, a large power provider with over 6,000 employees and a mix of generation and distribution facilities (including a regional nuclear plant), needed to modernize a 20-year-old supply chain system to ensure continuous service across more than 250,000 spare parts. After selecting IBM Maximo for core asset, procurement and inventory functions, the Electric Utility ran an RFP for best‑of‑breed forecasting and inventory optimization and chose Smart Software to provide the Inventory Optimization/Forecasting capabilities (Smart IP&O / Smart Inventory Planning & Optimization).

Smart Software implemented Smart IP&O and integrated it with the utility’s Maximo environment, going live in 90 days.
