A to Z Shredding, led by owner Ryan Heezen, is the only on-site document destruction company in western South Dakota. When Ryan took over in 2014 he found scheduling done “in his head,” inefficient routing, paper invoicing and long hours that wasted fuel and time. He purchased Smart Service and implemented its field service/shredding software to address these operational challenges.

Smart Service delivered auto-routing, electronic invoicing, repetitive scheduling, digital forms and GPS workforce tracking. Those changes cut fuel costs by $6,000 in the first year, reclaimed about two hours of work each night (reducing Ryan’s day from roughly ten to eight hours), sped payments from 30–60 days to about 15 days, and enabled immediate emailed Certificates of Destruction—improving productivity, cash flow and field accountability.
