Wellington City Council launched a Smart City initiative to improve parking across Wellington’s CBD, where drivers previously relied on parking meters, tickets, and manual enforcement methods that were time-consuming and often frustrating. Smart Parking provided the PayMyPark app and PayBySpace technology, along with its cloud-based SmartRep platform, to give motorists real-time parking availability and mobile payment options.

With Smart Parking’s solution, drivers can find open spaces faster, pay and extend parking sessions from their smartphones, and avoid unnecessary trips back to their vehicles. SmartRep relays and analyzes live and historic parking data, giving Wellington City Council the insights it needs to plan future parking and transport improvements, reduce idling and circling, and support a better CBD experience for visitors, residents, and local businesses.
