A Fortune 500 energy company with more than $36 billion in revenue and about 12 million customers faced fragmented, high‑maintenance procurement spread across 20 systems (including four ERPs) and needed to consolidate source-to-contract, tighten supplier vetting to meet government regulations, increase use of preferred suppliers, and gain better control and visibility of spend.
The company implemented GEP SMART, deploying source-to-contract, spend, sourcing, project planning and savings tracking in under three months and integrating seamlessly with existing ERPs and tools. Supplier data was cleansed (merging hundreds of duplicate profiles), 13,000 suppliers were onboarded, and the platform enabled center-led procurement with >1,000 active users, ~4,500 RFPs, and classification/analysis of over $85 billion in spend — while reporting times dropped from days to hours and compliance and supplier management markedly improved.
