A Fortune 500 energy company with about $12 billion in revenue and roughly 11 million utility customers in the US and UK needed a modern procurement solution because its home‑grown system lacked robust supplier integration, sourcing and reporting capabilities and offered limited end‑to‑end visibility.
GEP SMART was integrated with the client’s existing system and supplier EDI/portal connections were established, plus a supplier enablement campaign to onboard vendors; within eight weeks 225 hosted and 35 integrated suppliers were onboarded, later growing to 800 enabled suppliers. Since implementation the platform processes about 26,000 orders and 41,000 invoices monthly, supports 15+ RFXs per month, and has executed over 500,000 transactions—approximately $2 billion in spend—delivering streamlined procurement and higher productivity.
