American Fast Food Giant Enhances Visibility, Strengthens Supplier Relationships With GEP SMART

A leading U.S. restaurant chain with roughly $11 billion in annual revenue and thousands of outlets faced poor visibility into enterprise-wide spend and an unwieldy supplier base of about 95,000 vendors spread across multiple ERPs. The company needed a consolidated procurement platform to cleanse and consolidate supplier data, bring more spend under management, strengthen direct-materials vendor records, and improve supplier management to reduce risk and drive savings.

The chain deployed GEP SMART, customizing the spend taxonomy, establishing supplier registration and approval workflows, and running a supplier enablement program. Supplier normalization reduced duplicate records from 95,000 to about 75,000 (and was further trimmed thereafter), while spend accuracy exceeded 95%; more than 600 suppliers were onboarded, an integrated cross-suite dashboard and annual supplier scorecard were launched, and quarterly refresh time improved to five days—delivering better control, compliance, risk mitigation and operational efficiency.
