Case Study: International Monetary Fund streamlines global data dissemination with Smart Analytics

A Smart Analytics Case Study

Preview of the International Monetary Fund (imf) Case Study

International Monetary Fund manages 32+ datasets and 1,000 users with Smart Analytics

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) faced significant challenges in standardizing and disseminating its economic data. Key issues included a lack of data submission and quality standardization, inefficient manual processes that required significant labor, slow response times to global economic changes, and limitations on publication diversity. The IMF engaged Smart Analytics to implement a solution to address these problems across all stages of the statistical process.

Smart Analytics developed and implemented an integrated solution consisting of the Economic Outlook Suite (EcOS) for data management and an Economic Data Dissemination (EDD) application. This provided a single data repository, end-to-end data processing, and a public open data portal. As a result, the IMF has successfully operated the solution for over a decade, making 32+ datasets available to 1,000 internal and external users and receiving over 1,000,000 visits to its open data portal per month.
