BASF Agricultural Terminal that Helps to Build Go-To-Market Strategy

BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division worked with Smart Analytics to address the complexity of building go-to-market strategy using data from many different agricultural and market sources. Global market research analysts needed to combine information from international organizations, statistical agencies, and commodity markets, but differing classifiers, currencies, units, and update dates made harmonization and manual updating time-consuming and labor-intensive.

Smart Analytics implemented the Agricultural Terminal, a web app used since 2011 and updated in 2021 for better usability and performance. The solution automatically collects and harmonizes data from 26 sources, supports standardized reports, historic comparisons, and management presentations, and gives BASF a single entry point to agricultural, macroeconomic, and trade data. As a result, analysts can work faster and make more data-driven decisions, with more than 40 reports and historic data available back to 1960.
