Smarsh Helps Lee County Vistor and Convention Bureau Meet Open Government Laws

The Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau, which promotes tourism for southwest Florida destinations like Fort Myers and its beaches, wanted to use Pinterest to showcase visitor photos and extend its marketing reach—but needed to comply with Florida’s open government (Sunshine) laws requiring public records retention. Manual printing and storage were impractical, so the VCB sought an automated archiving solution that would make social posts producible on demand.

Smarsh provided automated capture and cloud archiving of the VCB’s Pinterest site, preserving pages, links, attachments and a time-stamped filmstrip view for easy search, review and production. The solution enabled the VCB to use Pinterest confidently and efficiently while meeting compliance obligations, freeing staff from manual recordkeeping and supporting continued marketing success (including industry recognition with a Platinum Adrian Award).
