QALO launches smart ring in 3 months with SmallWorld

The customer QALO, a D2C lifestyle brand known for silicone rings, faced the significant challenge of launching a subscription-free health-tracking smart ring in just three months. This required developing the hardware, a backend infrastructure, and a companion mobile app to meet a critical distribution deadline with Walmart. They partnered with the vendor Smallworld to achieve this rapid, complex product launch.

Smallworld implemented a solution that included a product strategy centered on a simple "Q Score" metric, an Elixir-powered backend for data handling, and a React Native mobile app. This enabled the successful launch of the QALO QRNT smart ring on time. The results were highly successful, including a distribution partnership with Walmart and the sale of over 2,000 rings in the first 40 days, accelerating QALO's evolution into a wearable tech pioneer.
