BBM Targets, Optimizes, and Doubles Revenue with Smaato

BBM, a widely used real-time social messaging app, needed a reliable global monetization partner to capture programmatic demand across high-traffic regions like Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Latin America. In December 2014 BBM selected Smaato for its extensive international demand-side partnerships and flexible ad-format support to better monetize smartphone inventory at scale.

Using Smaato’s SPX platform and account management services, BBM optimized its 300x250 smartphone banner and introduced rich media, native ads and private marketplaces. Close floor supervision and optimization delivered steady growth—including a 25% eCPM lift from October to November 2015—while Smaato became one of BBM’s primary PMP partners and helped drive significant revenue gains.
