A Smaato Case Study
ASKfm, the IAC-owned global Q&A social network founded in 2010 with 164 million registered users and 150 million monthly uniques, needed a better programmatic setup to maximize price per impression. The team was seeking a unified demand solution to replace the inefficient waterfall/daisy-chain model and to reliably monetize traffic across 100+ countries, especially Tier 2 markets.
ASKfm migrated to Smaato’s SPX platform and implemented Dynamic Demand decisioning, allowing its own partners to compete alongside Smaato’s 420+ global demand sources. The move forced broader competition across the demand stack, doubled fill rates and increased revenue by 40%, improving monetization across both Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets.
