Star Aire cuts electricity costs to €11,800–€13,150 per month with SMA Solar Technology

The air conditioner manufacturer Star Aire sought to reduce its electricity costs at its factory in Nonthaburi, Thailand. They worked with vendor SMA Solar Technology to install a commercial rooftop photovoltaic power plant to generate and directly consume green electricity on site.

SMA Solar Technology implemented a 1 MWp system using 36 Sunny Tripower inverters. This solution reduced the factory's monthly electricity costs to between €11,800 and €13,150 and achieved annual CO2 savings of approximately 820 tons. Due to an industry tax exemption, the system's payback period was just 3.5 years.
