Heel Energie powers EV fleet with SMA Solar and restores backup power in 5 seconds

Heel Energie, an installation contractor with nearly 30 employees, faced the challenge of rising fuel prices and a desire to become a more climate-friendly company by integrating electric vehicles into its fleet. The goal was to charge these vehicles using self-generated solar power to keep operating costs low. To address this, the company worked with vendor SMA Solar to implement a solution using their SMA Commercial Energy Solution, which included PV inverters like the Sunny Tripower CORE1.

SMA Solar implemented a complete system featuring a fully integrated charging infrastructure with ten SMA EV Charger Business stations, a battery-storage system, and a combined heat and power plant. The results included an affordable, fossil-fuel-free mobility solution, a resilient off-grid power supply that could restore electricity after just five seconds during an outage, and the capacity for the company to operate self-sufficiently for over a year and a half.
