Azure Power offsets 66,000 tons of CO2 with SMA Solar at its 40 MW Rajasthan plant

SMA Solar Technology provided their Sunny Central 800CP inverters to Azure Power for a 40 MW solar power plant in Naguar, India. The customer's challenge was to build a reliable plant in an extreme climate characterized by intense heat, dryness, sandstorms, and large temperature variations.

The solution implemented by SMA utilized robust outdoor enclosures and an intelligent OptiCool cooling concept suited to the harsh environment. The plant, using 43 of these inverters, achieves a peak load of nearly 880 kW. SMA Solar Technology helped Azure Power create a plant that offsets approximately 66,000 metric tons of CO2 annually.
